WASHINGTON – Commercial Window Shield has been hired by rand Construction for a multi-faceted window film installation project in the nation’s capital.
For client the Association of American Medical Colleges [AAMC], rand will be renovating nine floors of an AAMC-occupied building at 655 K St. NW.
As part of the renovation process, Commercial Window Shield will be installing the following window films:
- Reed. A stylistic decorative film resembling bamboo will be installed on select glass fronts and doors. The film, a less expensive option than reeded glass, provides complete privacy.
- Solar control. The south side of one of the building’s floors is exposed to significant sun exposure resulting in uncomfortable and inefficient heat gain. Installation of a solar control window film will neutralize the sun exposure and restore the area’s out-of-sync climate control system to normal.
- Decorative. The company will install a 6-inch frosted decorative band of film on a number of glass fronts throughout the building.
- Safety and security. Commercial Window Shield will install this shatter-resistance window film on the glass in the building’s property management’s entryway to prevent any break-ins.
Commercial Window Shield installers will begin their work later this fall and work closely with on-site rand project managers and sub-contractors to ensure a seamless window film installation process.
