NORTHERN VIRGINIA – A Washington, D.C. construction company has hired Commercial Window Shield to install a combination shatter resistant and anti-electronic eavesdropping window film for a high-security federal government tenant at an undisclosed Northern Virginia building.

The project involves installing shatter resistant window film that also has radio frequency shielding capabilities on 4,500 square feet of glass on one floor. A wet glaze attachment system will be used to adhere the film to the window frames.

Corenic, who has worked with Commercial Window Shield on three previous security window film installation projects, is renovating the entire floor in a build out project and the window film has been included in the specifications. The project will begin in June. Commercial Window Shield installers will work closely with Corenic to coordinate installation of the film. The film’s radio frequency shielding capabilities prevents anyone from outside the building to access information from computers through the windows.

Commercial Window Shield’s expertise in niche shatter resistant, solar control and other window film installations over the past 35 years has resulted in the company securing projects in some of the country’s most well-known buildings. They include the U.S. Capitol, Grand Central Terminal, O’Hare International Airport, the Willis [former Sears] Tower, all the U.S. House of Representative and Library of Congress buildings and FBI headquarters.
