HYATTSVILLE, Md.   James G. Davis Construction Corp. has retained Commercial Window Shield to protect the windows at the National Center for Health Statistics headquarters in suburban Washington, D.C.

Although the project falls under GSA’s lease renewal security requirement guidelines, the NCHC’s parent agency, the Center for Disease Control, opted for a higher level of protection. As a result, Commercial Window Shield will be installing 15,000 sq. ft. of 7-mil security film with a perimeter wet glass attachment system to four floors of the building. The security film will protect 553 panes of glass in the building.

The window security project is part of a full build-out of the building, so Commercial Window Shield installers will work in conjunction with other contractors to develop an efficient schedule. The project is scheduled to begin in April and must be completed in 20 days.

Since 2005, Commercial Window Shield has completed scores of GSA lease renewal security upgrade projects nationwide and has been particularly active in the Washington area.

Among the company’s many high-profile security and solar reflective window film installation projects over the past 30 years are the U.S. Capitol, House of Representatives, Pentagon, FBI headquarters, Merrill Lynch headquarters, Grand Central Terminal, the Denver and Philadelphia mints, O’Hare International Airport and the Willis Tower [former Sears Tower].
