WASHINGTON  Commercial Window Shield has been contracted for two shatter-resistant window film installation projects at the same downtown Washington building as part of GSA’s lease renewal security requirements.

The first project involves protecting windows on two floors of the building at 800 N. Capitol St. NW occupied by the Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency. One of the floors features large windows that are considered more vulnerable, so 7-mil film with a perimeter wet glaze attachment system will be installed. The other floor is less vulnerable so 7-mil film will be installed without the attachment system. The client is HBW Group of Rockville, Md.

Project two calls for 7-mil shatter resistant film with a peremeter wet glaze attachment system to be installed on two floors of the same building occupied by the Federal Protection Service. Corenic Construction of Washington, D.C. is the client.

The projects are scheduled to be completed on time in early March.

Since 2005, Commercial Window Shield has completed scores of GSA lease renewal security upgrade projects nationwide.

Among the company’s many high-profile security and solar reflective window film installation projects over the past 30 years are the U.S. Capitol, House of Representatives, Pentagon, FBI headquarters, Merrill Lynch headquarters, Grand Central Terminal, the Denver and Philadelphia mints, O’Hare International Airport and the Willis Tower [former Sears Tower].
