WASHINGTON – Pizzano Contractors has hired Commercial Window Shield for a multi-faceted window film removal and window film installation project in the nation’s capital.
For tenant U.S. Department of Justice, Pizzano will be doing a complete renovation of a 11-story building at 555 4th St. NW.
Presently, all the building’s windows have dated fragment retention window film installed on the interior side of all exterior glass. Commercial Window Shield’s first task is to remove the existing fragment retention window film.
As Pizzano progresses in its buildout throughout 2026, Commercial Window Shield installers will begin work on the other phases of its window film installation effort.
The company will be installing a tinted blast film on 1,785 glass panes covering 37,000 sq. ft. of glass. Commercial Window Film installers will also utilize 33,000 linear feet of a wet glaze attachment system to structurally anchor the tinted blast window film to the window frame.
Once completed, the building will have four tenants, each affiliated with DOJ but having different design requirements for their spaces. Commercial Window Film will be installing various decorative/privacy window films on all interior office fronts and conference rooms glass. In total, the company will be installing 27,000 sq. ft. of privacy window film throughout the building.
Commercial Window Film installers will work closely with the general contractor – Pizzano – and all sub-contractors involved in the project in scheduling its window film installation work.
