WASHINGTON – Commercial Window Shield has been hired by rand Construction for a privacy/decorative window film installation project in the nation’s capital.
The project is for rand client Indy by Industrious. The national construction company, headquartered in Alexandra, Va., is renovating one floor of Metropolitan Square at 655 15th St. NW. Commercial Window Shield’s role involves the installation of a white opaque frosted privacy film on select office fronts on one floor that will provide 100 percent privacy to office occupants.
Additionally, the company will be installing a distraction film with a design element on the remaining office fronts. The distraction film enhances the visibility, preventing people from walking into the glass.
At this location, Indy by Industrious will be offering basic shared office space to companies and local professionals.
The project is expected to be completed in late spring.
Commercial Window Shield and rand have had a long-term relationship involving a number of window film installation projects in recent years. The company, one of the country’s leading installers of all types of window films, has a history working with some of the country’s top general contractors.
Commercial Window Shield has also completed security, solar control, radio frequency [RF], switchable smart, decorative/privacy window and bird safety film projects for DAVIS, CK Commercial, Harvey-Cleary, HITT, Gilbane Building Co., Watts Construction, DPR Construction and May Construction.
The company’s major focus in its more than 40 years in business has been security and solar control window film installation. Its clients have included the U.S. Capitol, FBI headquarters, the Pentagon, all House of Representative and Library of Congress buildings, Grand Central Terminal, Merrill Lynch headquarters, the United Nations, the Willis [former Sears] Tower, O’Hare and Seattle international airports, and the Philadelphia and Denver mints.
