IMPROPERLY ATTACHED SECURITY WINDOW FILM IS INEFFECTIVE AGAINST INTRUDERS
When officials at the Fox 5 news station in Washington, D.C. decided to secure their front entranceway doors by installing security film on the glass, the company installing the film made a critical mistake.
They neglected to use an attachment system to hold the glass in place in the door frame. As a result, an intruder in broad daylight easily kicked in the glass and entered the building only to be later shot by security guards.

While the film did its job by keeping the glass from shattering, the lack of a wet glaze attachment system – proven to be the most secure and effective system in the marketplace – meant the glass was easily dislodged from its frame, rendering the security component of the film useless.
In large buildings where hundreds of windows might have security film installed, the lack of a proper attachment system could send the windows flying during a bomb blast or foul weather event, turning them into dangerous weapons.
So if you are a building owner or architect or general contractor and security window film installation is being considered for a project, make sure you hire a reputable film installation company with experience in utilizing a wet glaze attachment system to secure the film. Otherwise, you’re wasting your money and putting lives unnecessarily at risk.
