HITT Retains CWS for Security Window Film Project at Booz Allen HQ
McLean, Va. – Commercial Window Shield has been selected by HITT contractors to install security window film at Booz Allen Hamilton’s two world headquarters’ buildings.
HITT is one of the country’s leading general contractors while Booz Allen is one of the world’s top management and information technology consulting firms.
The project involves the installation of 8-mil clear security film on the first three floors of each building, located at Tysons Corner Center, one of the country’s largest retail shopping complexes. In total, about 19,000 square feet of security film will be installed on 600 panes of glass.
HITT was retained by Booz Allen for a larger security project and window security was included. A blast assessment test carried out by an engineering company determined that the installation of a shatter resistant film would be the best solution to protecting the windows – and occupants – on the buildings’ first three floors.
Because the buildings are fully occupied during the day, Commercial Window Shield employees will work at night to install the security film. Furniture will be moved and replaced on a nightly basis so the installers can gain access to the windows.
The project will begin in late January and be completed in February. Because of its expertise in fragment retention film installation and its ability to complete jobs exactly to specifications and on time, Commercial Window Shield has been hired by HITT for a number of glass protection projects.
Commercial Window Shield is one of the country’s largest installers of security and solar control window films. Among the hundreds of projects the company has completed in its 30+ years are the U.S. Capitol, all House of Representative and Library of Congress buildings, Pentagon, FBI headquarters, Grand Central Terminal, Merrill Lynch headquarters, O’Hare International Airport, the Willis Tower [former Sears Tower], the United Nations, and the Philadelphia and Denver mints.
