CWS Retained by HITT for RF Film Installation Project at Booz Allen
MCLEAN, Va. – HITT Contracting has retained Commercial Window Shield for a second project at the Tysons Corner headquarters of Booz Allen Hamilton, one of the world’s top management and information technology consulting firms.
The project involves the installation of Signals Defense SD2500 radio frequency [RF] shielding film on the exterior windows of a HITT buildout of two suites on the 7th floor of the Booz building.
Radio frequency shielding film prevents electronic eavesdropping and theft of secure and classified information from computers and cell phones through window glass. Alarmingly, this has become a serious issue in high-security office buildings and in offices with computers storing vital information.
Additionally, Commercial Window Shield also will be installing a band of 3M FASARA decorative privacy film to the front glass of all the interior offices.
The project is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2023.
HIIT has hired Commercial Window Shield for numerous window film installation projects over the past five years. In 2018, the company installed 19,000 square feet of security film on 600 panes of glass in the same Booz building and neighboring Hamilton building, both located on the sprawling Booz Allen campus.
For that project, HITT was retained by Booz Allen for a larger security project and window security was included. A blast assessment test carried out by an engineering company determined that the installation of a shatter resistant film would be the best solution to protecting the windows – and occupants – on the buildings’ first three floors.
Commercial Window Shield is one of the country’s leading installers of security window films, in addition to solar control, switchable smart, decorative/privacy and anti-bird strike window films.
Among the hundreds of window film installation projects the company has completed in its nearly 40 years are the U.S. Capitol, all House of Representative and Library of Congress buildings, Pentagon, FBI headquarters, Grand Central Terminal, Merrill Lynch headquarters, O’Hare International Airport, the Willis Tower [former Sears Tower], the United Nations, and the Philadelphia and Denver mints.
