Nature of Project

Bird safety

Details

Thousands of birds were dying every year crashing into the glass covered L Street bridge corridor connecting the convention center with another building.
Convention center officials hired Commercial Window Shield to solve the problem. The company installed 7,500 sq. ft. of bird safety film on exposed areas of the glass-covered corridor, a regular fly-through zone for birds.

Local environmentalists lauded Commercial Window Shield for its effort. Ann Lewis, president of City Wildlife, said that since the installation of the film by Commercial Window Shield in 2016, there has been an 85 percent reduction in building bird strikes.
