Blast mitigation and sun control
For building owner JB/Smith, Commercial Window Shield installed 85,555 sq. ft. of solar security window film on 2,941 panes of glass and an additional 32,822 sq. ft. of solar control window film on 1,278 window panes. The security window film installation was a GSA requirement for high security government tenants. In this case, Techworld tenants included Homeland Security, FEMA, Immigration and Custom Enforcement and the Veteran’s Administration. The solar control window film installation was a separate part of the project. Its purpose was to conserve energy and enhance the building’s appearance.
