Details

The city of Jacksonville received a Homeland Security grant to protect all the windows at the University of Florida & Shands Medical Center, which specializes in caring for critically ill patients. The city issued an RFP for the project. Commercial Window Shield, the second lowest bidder, won the bid after the low bid was thrown out for non-compliance. The project specifications by a local film installer called for both mechanical and wet glaze attachment systems.

In total commercial Window Shield installed 10,000 sq. ft. of 14-mil clear fragment retention film on 295 windows. The company installed 3,500 lineal feet of a wet glaze attachment system and 4,200 lineal feet of a 4-sided mechanical attachment system.

Commercial Window Shield is expert in both methods, as evidenced by the result. The project was completed on time, and Commercial Window Shield was widely praised by project officials for its professionalism and expertise on the project.
