ROSEMONT, Ill. – HITT Contracting has hired Commercial Window Shield for a fragment retention window film project for a federal government tenant in a building near O’Hare International Airport.
The tenant will be occupying four floors of the high-security building that HITT will be renovating. For HITT, Commercial Window Shield will be installing 7-mil security film on 576 windows on floors 3-6. In total, the company will be installing 14,000 sq. ft. of shatter resistant window film.
The fragment retention window film installation component of the project is mandated by the government’s General Services Administration [GSA] as part of its overall building security program.
Additionally, Commercial Window Shield will be installing a band of frosted privacy film on all office fronts and conference room glass on each of the floors. In total, the company will be installing 5,000 sq. feet of decorative/privacy window film.
The project will begin in the first or second quarter of 2026.
