UN SELECTS COMMERCIAL WINDOW SHIELD TO PROTECT ITS BUILDINGS WINDOWS IN NYC
NEW YORK, N.Y. – Continuing a long-standing tradition of protecting some of the country’s most significant buildings, Commercial Window Shield has been selected to install fragment retention window film on several buildings at the United Nations headquarters complex in New York City.
The contract, awarded by the United Nations Development Programme, calls for the installation of the security film on windows and other exposed glass on an as-needed basis over a three-year period.
The UN complex, located in the heart of the city, includes the widely-recognized Secretariat building, the General Assembly building and the Dag Hammarskjold Library. The 18-acre site is considered international territory and belongs to the UN’s 193 member states.
Commercial Window Shield is one of the country’s leading fragment retention window film installers. Its distinguished New York City project list includes Grand Central Terminal, Merrill Lynch headquarters at the World Financial Center, and Ernst & Young headquarters.
Elsewhere, the company has protected glass at the U.S. Capitol, Pentagon, FBI headquarters, all the U.S. House of Representative and Library of Congress buildings, the Willis [former Sears] Tower, O’Hare International Airport, and the U.S. Mints in Denver and Philadelphia.
