Owens Corning Taps CWS for 2nd Window Security Project
DELMAR, N.Y. – Owens Corning, the world’s leading manufacturer of fiberglass, has hired Commercial Window Shield for a glass protection project at its northeast insulation operation headquarters.
The company will be installing 8-mil clear security film with a 4-sided wet glaze attachment system to all the glass in the building’s entryway and vulnerable first floor windows. The security film makes it difficult for intruders to enter the building and holds the glass in place during any potential blast or foul weather event.
Last year, Commercial Window Shield completed a similar project at Owens Corning’s corporate headquarters in Toledo, Ohio. That project was completed on time, and OC management was so impressed with the quality of the work they awarded Commercial Window Shield the Delmar building project, which will begin this winter.
Over 35 years, Commercial Window Shield has completed solar control and security window installation projects for some of the country’s leading corporations including Merrill Lynch, Ernst & Young, Boeing, Castle Construction, HITT, JB Smith and British Petroleum.
Additionally, the company has protected windows at the U.S. Capitol, Pentagon, and all House of Representative buildings, O’Hare International Airport, the Willis Tower [former Sears Tower], Denver and Philadelphia mints, George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston and the Washington Convention Center in the nation’s capitol.
