HITT Retains CWS – Again – for Smart Film Installation Project
NORTH OLMSTEAD, Ohio – Commercial Window Shield has been hired by HITT for a smart window film installation project at the suburban Cleveland-area office of an international insurance company.
The smart film assignment is part of an overall renovation project HITT, a Falls Church, Va. construction company, will be doing for FM Global.
The project requires considerable experience and skill, as Commercial Window Shield will be installing smart film – also known as switchable film – on moveable office and conference room glass systems. Each piece of smart film will be custom-made down to a 1/8–inch to fit a particular panel. There will be 19 panels in all. Since smart film involves working with electrical wires and general electricity, installers need to have a particular expertise to precisely and safely complete the task.
An additional challenge facing Commercial Window Shield will be coordinating all aspects of the project with other on-site sub-contractors. Once the company measures each panel and orders the smart film from the manufacturer, there’s a 6-week window to complete the project as a hard deadline has been set.
All of these challenges are nothing new to Commercial Window Shield, which has been successfully completing window film installation projects of all kinds for nearly 40 years. The company has a long-standing relationship with HITT, having completed numerous window film installation projects over many years.
In addition to HITT, Commercial Window Shield has a long history working with other top general contractors, including Davis Construction, Harvey-Cleary and Gilbane Building Co.
The company’s major focus has been security and solar control window film installation. But in addition to smart window film the company also is expert in installing Radio Frequency [RF], privacy/decorative, anti-bird strike and polycarbonate protective glass systems. Its clients have included the U.S. Capitol, FBI headquarters, the Pentagon, all House of Representative and Library of Congress buildings, Grand Central Terminal, Merrill Lynch headquarters, the United Nations, the Willis [former Sears] Tower, O’Hare and Seattle international airports, and the Philadelphia and Denver mints.
