CWS RETAINED BY HARTFORD SCHOOLS FOR PHASE 3 OF GLASS PROTECTION PROJECT
HARTFORD, Conn. Hartford Public Schools has retained Commercial Window Shield for Phase 3 of its district-wide glass protection project in its school buildings.
The latest project involves protecting the windows in E.B. Kennelly Elementary School and Burns Latino Studies Academy.
Last year, the company installed safety and security window film on the entryways and vulnerable first-floor windows in five school buildings. Hartford school officials were so pleased with the quality of the work and performance, they extended Commercial Window Shield’s contract to include an additional nine school buildings rather than open the project to bid. Phase 2 was completed earlier this year.
As in Phase 2, Hartford once again extended Commercial Window Shield’s contract  because of the company’s exceptional work and adherence to deadlines, school officials said.
The Hartford project continues a national trend in which school districts are acting to protect their buildings from potential violent intruders. To date, the company has protected the glass in more than 130 school buildings in nine states.
Elsewhere, the company has completed safety and security film projects at Geneva, Minooka and Lake Zurich school districts in suburban Chicago; Calvert County [Md.] Public Schools; Bath Local Schools, near Lima, Ohio; Hewlett-Woodmere Public Schools, N.Y.; Glastonbury and Simsbury school districts in Connecticut; Henry County in Virginia; and in Beaverton, Ore. and Lansdale, Pa.
With nearly 30 years experience, Commercial Window Shield is the nation’s leading safety and security, and solar control window film installer. Among its many projects, the company has protected windows at the U.S. Capitol, FBI headquarters, Pentagon, and all House of Representative buildings, O’Hare International Airport, the Willis Tower [former Sears Tower], Denver Mint, Grand Central Terminal and George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.
