CWS CUTS DUE DATE IN HALF IN CENTER FOR DISEASE CONTROL WINDOW PROTECTION PROJECT
HYATTSVILLE, Md. Under a tight deadline, Commercial Window Shield has completed a security window film project at the National Center for Health Statistics headquarters in suburban Washington, D.C. in half the planned time.
The window protection project was part of a full build-out of the building, so Commercial Window Shield installers worked in conjunction with other contractors to develop an efficient schedule. The project deadline was 20 days. Commercial Window Shield completed the work in 10.
James G. Davis Construction Corp. retained the company for the project. The Government Services
Administration [GSA] is the official tenant, representing the Health Statistics agency.
Although the project fell under GSA’s lease renewal security requirement guidelines, the NCHC’s parent agency, the Center for Disease Control, opted for a higher level of protection. As a result, Commercial Window Shield installed 15,000 sq. ft. of 7-mil security window film with a perimeter wet glass attachment system to four floors of the building. The glass protection film will protect 553 panes in the building.
Since 2005, Commercial Window Shield has completed scores of GSA lease renewal security upgrade projects nationwide involving window protection and has been particularly active in the Washington area.
Among the company’s many high-profile security window film and commercial window tinting installation projects over the past 30 years are the U.S. Capitol, House of Representatives, Pentagon, FBI headquarters, Merrill Lynch headquarters, Grand Central Terminal, the Denver and Philadelphia mints, the United Nations, O’Hare International Airport and the Willis Tower [former Sears Tower].
