MECHANICSBURG, Ohio — Commercial Window Shield has completed yet another school security window film installation project. The project, at Mechanicsburg Exempted Village School District, involved protecting vulnerable windows and entryways in buildings housing its high school, middle school and elementary school students and teachers

Completed last week, Commercial Window Shield installed 8-mil safety and security film with a Dow 995 wet glaze attachment system to all first floor windows and entryways. The film has been a popular security upgrade for schools around the country because it helps keep out unwanted intruders from school buildings, giving law enforcement officials precious time to respond to any unforeseen event.

With school intrusions and shootings escalating, the Mechanicsburg project continues a national trend in which school districts are acting to protect their buildings from potential violent intruders with the installation of shatter resistant window film. Commercial Window Shield, a leader in the field, has received widespread praise for its anti-blast film installation work at schools.

“The installation team performed above our high level of expectation,” said William C. Salee, construction manager for a safety and security film project at Rockwell [Texas] Independent School District in suburban Dallas. “They worked very efficiently, went out of their way to avoid any distractions for the building occupants, and completed the project in less time than had been anticipated. We are very pleased with the quality of the workmanship of the installation.”

Since the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings in 2012, Commercial Window Shield has been at the forefront of protecting glass in school buildings nationwide. The company has installed security window film on more than 330 school buildings in nine states.
