CWS COMPLETES MEGA SOLAR REFLECTIVE FILM INSTALLATION PROJECT AT CAMP PENDLETON
CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. One of the largest solar reflective window film installation projects on a military base in U.S. history has been completed by Commercial Window Shield.
The company installed more than 125,000 sq. ft. of solar reflective film on more than 80 office, barracks and other buildings at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, near San Diego. The project included removing existing window film prior to installation of the new solar reflective film.
Commercial Window Shield was awarded the film installation project by I.E. Pacific of San Diego, the general contractor, because of the company’s extensive experience with window film projects at American military bases. Commercial Window Shield recently completed a security window film installation contract at Whiteman AFB in Missouri.
The Camp Pendleton project required significant planning and coordination – a Commercial Window Shield forte. The base is one of the Department of Defense’s busiest military complexes. Marine, Navy and Army units train on Camp Pendleton’s 125,000 acres. The base is home to 38,000 military family members and has a daytime population of 78,000 military and civilian personnel.
Commercial Window Shield received high marks for its effort.
CWS provided top-notch management and leadership, said I.E. Pacific President Diane Koester-Dion. They not only committed the necessary personnel and resources but fostered a team spirit among all the project stakeholders, including government representatives, civilian personnel and active military members.
Commercial Window Shield is the world’s largest installer of fragment retention and solar reflective window films. Among the hundreds of projects the company has completed in its 30-plus years are the U.S. Capitol, House of Representatives, Pentagon, FBI headquarters, Grand Central Terminal, Denver and Philadelphia Mints, Merrill Lynch headquarters, O’Hare International Airport and the Willis Tower [former Sears Tower].
