Jacksonville Hospital Windows Secured After CWS Film Installation Effort
May 26, 2011
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – When the city of Jacksonville wanted to protect the windows on the University of Florida & Shands Medical Center, it selected Commercial Window Shield to install fragment retention film.
The medical center cares for critically-ill patients and is one of the most important health care facilities in the Southeast. The city received a Homeland Security grant to fund the project. Window protection was deemed important for both security and weather-related issues, as the hospital is located in a hurricane belt.
Specifications called for 10,000 square feet of 14-mil fragment retention window film to be installed using both a mechanical and a wet glaze attachment system. Commercial Window Shield is expert in both installation methods and completed the assignment on time to the satisfaction of city and hospital officials.
“I am very pleased with the workmanship, professionalism and general let’s get her done attitude of the Commercial Window Shield staff,” said Tony Suszcznski, disaster preparedness coordinator for the hospital, as the project moved forward on time.
Commercial Window Shield is the world’s largest installer of fragment retention and solar reflective window films. Among the hundreds of projects the company has completed in its 25 years are the U.S. Capitol, House of Representatives, Pentagon, FBI headquarters, Grand Central Terminal, Merrill Lynch headquarters and O’Hare International Airport.
