CWS Inked for D.C. Techworld Phase 2; 4,500+ Windows Protected

May 31, 2011

WASHINGTON – The JBG Companies, one of Washington’s leading commercial building owners and developers, has hired Commercial Window Shield to complete Phase 2 of its window protection project at its Techworld complex in central Washington.

Earlier this year, after JBG renewed its leases with the General Services Administration on its Techworld properties at 800 K St. and 801 I St. NW, the company turned to Commercial Window Shield to handle fragment retention window film installation mandated in the lease renewal language, as well as solar reflective film for energy savings. In Phase 1, more than 4,000 windows were protected.

In Phase 2, Commercial Window Shield will install fragment retention film on an additional 571 windows, bringing the total windows protected to 4,571.

Tenants in offices involved in Phase 1 include Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, FEMA and the Veterans Administration. Phase 2 tenants include the Drug Enforcement Administration and Department of Labor.

Commercial Window Shield is the world’s largest installer of fragment retention and solar reflective window films.  Among the hundreds of projects the company has completed in its 25 years are the U.S. Capitol, House of Representatives, Pentagon, FBI headquarters, Grand Central Terminal, Merrill Lynch headquarters and O’Hare International Airport.
